SUPPORT FOR COUPLES Assessing Couple conflicts often take a bit of time to resolve. In the first few meetings, I explore with the couple their concerns, determine if couples work is recommended, and establish goals for the work we will do together. Working Through Couples commit to an initial 12 sessions to work on their goals. At the end of the 12 sessions, there is an evaluation session to review progress and determine next steps. The next steps may include a commitment for additional therapy. Tune-ups Once initial goals are met, clients may return for help with new issues or other matters they would like to resolve. More For Couples An excellent resource for couples in the San Francisco Bay Area and via their website is the Couples Institute. One more thing... There are some excellent books out there for folks who like to get their information that way. John Gottman's book, The Relationship Cure: A Five-Step Guide for Building Better Connections with Family, Friends, and Lovers, is an easy read with lots of self-assessments and practical tips. :: posted by Ralph Notor, MFT 07/12/06 Psychotherapist in San Francisco | Therapist in San Francisco | Anger Management Therapist in San Francisco | Anger Management Training | Anger Management | Couples Counseling in San Francisco | Couples Therapist in San Francisco | Marriage Family Therapist in San Francisco | Marriage Therapy | Family Therapy | Hypnosis in San Francisco | Hypnotherapist in San Francisco | Hypnosis Therapy in San Francisco | Workplace counseling in San Francisco |
